VW Crafter Tuning 2006–2016 — Page 25

For the first-generation Volkswagen Crafter (2006–2016), DD Tuning offers CAN bull bars and front protection, stainless side tubes and Erkul aluminum side steps, roof rails, window visors and sun visors, a hood deflector, winter covers, front bumper add-ons for painting, chrome trims, dashboard shelves, and model-specific floor mats. Two things matter for correct fitment: the front end before or after the 2011–2012 facelift, and the wheelbase.

What’s different before and after the front-end facelift

During the facelift, the Crafter received a different grille and bumper, so the front-end parts are made separately:

For the updated front end, there is also the USA-style front bumper for painting. The add-ons mount over the OEM bumper and are painted body color. For 2011–2012, the model year alone isn’t enough — compare your grille and bumper with the options, or send a photo to the manager.

What it shares with the Mercedes Sprinter W906

This generation Crafter is built on the shared platform with the Sprinter W906, so some accessories use the same part numbers: window visors, EuroCap and Meliset sun visors, DD roof rails, CAN side tubes, Anatomik and Evolution spoilers, Meric dashboard trims, EVA cabin mats, Premium Begel mud flaps. The Crafter has its own front end, so only choose hood deflectors, grilles, winter covers, bumper add-ons, and badges that are made specifically for Crafter.

Side steps, protection, and roof: choosing by wheelbase

• Side steps: CAN tubes Ø60 and Ø70 mm for short, medium, and Long/Extra Long wheelbases, Premium steps, corner tubes behind the rear wheel; Erkul aluminum steps (Maya, Allmond, Fullmond, Duru, Line, Bosphorus, RedLine); Sport steps for painting for L2, L3, and Extra Long.
• Front protection CAN: bull bar WT004 (60 or 51 mm tube, with or without lettering), WT002, lower tube 60 mm, ST008, ST014, black versions available; rear bars AK002 and aluminum Allmond.
• Roof rails Shark, DD in 265 and 340 cm (chrome or black, with plastic or cast foot), Meliset for painting; roof rack for painting.

Wheelbases are not interchangeable. Long and Extra Long differ in rear overhang length, so for roof rails and side steps it’s best to measure the roof or the distance between the wheel arches.

Deflectors, chrome, and interior

Window visors are available as stick-on (Sunplex Sport, HIC, Niken, EuroCap, including chrome versions) and in-channel under the seal (HIC, Niken Luxury, HEKO); hood deflector — EuroCap and HIC; above the windshield — sun visors EuroCap 5 mm with frame and Meliset adhesive-mounted. OmsaLine and Carmos chrome includes mirror covers, handle covers, rear bumper trim, the strip above the plate, fuel door cover, marker light surrounds, window moldings, and interior door sills, including LED backlit options; Crafter and TDI lettering is available in straight and italic styles.

For the cabin: dashboard shelves in nine versions, Meric trim kits with 19, 50, or 60 pieces, EVA mats, Carsuit, Stingray, Polytep, and textile mats, separate mats for the second row and door sills, a shift knob and gear lever boots. For the van there is an auxiliary heater, fog lights with an LED bulb, stainless and plastic hubcaps, model-specific mud flaps — rear sets are separate for single and dual rear wheels.
