Frequently asked questions
What types of car deflectors are there?
Window deflectors (rain guards) are installed above the side windows, a hood deflector (bug shield) is mounted on the front edge of the hood, and a visor is placed above the windshield or rear window. This section also includes winter grille covers and spare deflector mounts.
Which rain guards are better — stick-on or in-channel?
Stick-on ones are attached with double-sided tape to the door frame: they do not touch the glass and do not interfere with the window mechanism, but they require a clean, degreased surface and warmth during installation. In-channel ones are inserted into the glass channel under the weatherstrip; they look integrated, but the window may move more tightly with them. There is no universally better type — choose based on your car and what matters more to you.
Do I need to drill the hood for a bug shield?
For deflectors that attach with clips over the hood edge or with screws from the installation kit, drilling the hood is usually not required. Fiberglass deflectors for painting are attached with glass adhesive sealant. The installation method is specified in the product specifications.
Will a deflector from another body type or model year fit?
Not automatically. Deflectors are model-specific: a sedan, hatchback, and station wagon have different rear doors, and a facelift may change the shape of the hood. Check the generation, facelift, and body type, and if it is a transition year, send the manager a photo of the car.
Can you see through black rain guards?
Mostly yes: black rain guards are tinted, so from the outside they look dark, while from inside the car you can see through them. The level of transparency depends on the specific product — check the photos and description.
Can hood deflector mounts be bought separately?
Yes, in the “Deflector Mounts” section there are spare clips for EuroCap hood deflectors in sets of 4, 5, 6, and 7 pieces, as well as a mounting kit for in-channel rain guards. Before ordering, count how many mounting points your deflector has.
