Mercedes W222 Tuning & Upgrades — Page 64

Mercedes S-Class W222 2013–2022 — a sedan with short and long wheelbase (Long). It is most often tuned in three directions: updating a pre-facelift car to a fresher look, building an S63/S65 AMG style, or converting to Maybach styling. This section contains model-specific parts specifically for the W222. In each product title, the style, years, and wheelbase it fits are shown in parentheses.

Pre-facelift or facelift: how to identify your W222

The model was updated in 2017: LED headlights with three daytime running light bars appeared, along with a different grille and revised taillights. That’s why part names list 2014–2017 (2014–2018) for pre-facelift and 2018–2022 for facelift — S63/S65 AMG bumpers from these periods are not interchangeable. Even the LED ambient air vents are separate for 2014–2017 (7 colors) and 2018–2022 (64 colors). If your car has already been modified, rely on the bumper and headlights actually installed rather than the production year — send the manager a front-end photo or the VIN.

The second point is the wheelbase. Floor mats are separate for Long and Short; window deflectors with chrome molding and AMG side skirts (length 204 cm) are for Long. The Coupe has a separate section: Mercedes S-class C217 Coupe — sedan parts do not transfer to the coupe.

Facelift conversions and body kits: S63/S65 AMG, Maybach, BRB

The key is not to confuse the two types of sets:

• Body kit set — bumpers without lighting: S63 AMG in 2014 style (2014–2018 bumpers, AMG side skirts for Long, exhaust tips), S63 AMG and S65 AMG 2018-restyling, Maybach 2018–2022 (front and rear bumper).
• Facelift conversion set — includes lighting. The S63 AMG-2018 set includes a complete S63 front bumper, an S65 rear bumper with diffuser, facelift headlights with control units, taillights, an AMG Black grille, and S63 tips; the Maybach “with optics” set includes Maybach bumpers, headlights with control units, and taillights.

For a next-generation look, there are four W223-style facelift conversion sets for the W222 — AMG Line, S63 AMG, BRB, and Maybach — with door handles and trim inserts. What’s included and what remains from the W222 is explained in the article “Mercedes S-Class W222 in W223 style”. A more understated option is the BRB kit (black, 2018+) or the BRB lip spoiler and diffuser sold separately. Bumpers and side skirts are typically supplied unpainted: the part is test-fitted, panel gaps are aligned, and only then it is painted. Installation is available through the DD Tuning network of certified service centers — your manager will recommend the nearest one.

Lighting, grilles, carbon fiber, and AMG parts

In the car lighting section you’ll find facelift headlights with and without control units, 2014–2017 headlights in facelift design for pre-facelift cars, facelift taillights and Black edition taillights, as well as LED modules for the headlight by OEM part number, left and right sold separately. Depending on the set, the headlights may connect directly or require repinning or programming — an auto electrician will confirm this.

Radiator grilles — AMG (with NightVision and without), AMG Black, Maybach with vertical slats, GT Panamericana, and a set of chrome bumper grilles for the S65 AMG 2018–2021 bumper. Choose a grille with your camera, Night Vision, and Distronic in mind: a sensor mounting location does not guarantee the system will work.

Carbon fiber parts DDCarbon (real carbon fiber, custom-made) — spoilers V1–V7, rear window trim panel, mirror covers, front bumper inserts, diffusers with tips; carbon and forged carbon hoods are also available, as well as BRB and MNSR carbon kits (2018+). The look is completed by AMG S63, S63 Black, and S65 exhaust tips, the AMG brake system (front and rear), V8 Biturbo, V12 Biturbo, 6.3 AMG, and S63 badges, plus the hood “sight” emblem with or without text.

Interior, steering wheels, wheels, and floor mats

For the interior, we offer steering wheels in AMG 2018, AMG 2021, and Maybach styles (black and beige, with carbon or wood, LED options), an illuminated Burmester trim set, 2018–2022 door speaker grilles, and full-seat cover sets. For wheels, there are forged OEM R20–R22, Maybach-Design, and BRB-Design options. Floor mats — rubber, textile, and EVA for Long and Short, while the trunk mat is selected based on whether the car has rear-seat adjustment.
