Frequently asked questions
How is a wheel arch trim different from a wheel arch extension?
A trim is a narrow decorative strip made of stainless steel or ABS along the edge of the arch that does not change the body width. An extension is much wider, protrudes over the wheel, and covers the tire that extends beyond the fender. The product title always makes it clear what it is: “wheel arch trims” or “wheel arch extensions.”
Will universal trims fit my car?
Universal HongHang and DPT sets are chosen by measurements, not by brand: compare the segment length and width from the product card with your own arch. For some body types, the part may need trimming or bending. If there is a model-specific set for your vehicle, it is better to choose that one.
Do I need to drill the body for installation?
Not in the kits in this section: they are mounted with double-sided tape (“Self-adhesive”), glass adhesive sealant, or in the factory mounting points of the body. The installation method for a specific product is indicated in the product card in the “Installation type” field.
Will one set fit both pre-facelift and facelift versions, or both short and long versions?
Not always — where the arches differ, the kits are divided by years (for example, Mitsubishi ASX 2010–2012 and 2012–2016) or by wheelbase (Ford Transit, short wheelbase). There are also shared kits: wheel arch trims for Volkswagen T4 1990–2003 fit both the short and long front section. Refer to the years and the уточнення in the title.
Do “stainless” and “chrome” in the name mean different materials?
No, it is polished stainless steel with a mirror shine; there is no separate chrome coating on it, so nothing can peel off. Black versions are made of ABS plastic — the material of each item is listed in the product card specifications.
Can the trims be removed if I want to restore the factory look?
Trims on double-sided tape are removed by heating the tape with a hairdryer; a new tape is needed for reinstallation. Parts fixed with adhesive sealant hold more firmly, but they are harder to remove and may leave marks on the paint.
