Frequently asked questions

The cover is glued over the factory mirror cap, so the original part does not need to be removed. Replacement mirror caps are installed instead of the factory ones: for Land Cruiser 200 or Lexus LX570, the specifications state the installation type as “In factory locations,” and the carbon Replacement Style caps also replace the original part.
Trims with the “Self-adhesive” installation type are attached with double-sided tape — the surface should be washed and degreased first. Trims with the “For glue” installation type are glued with automotive glass adhesive (for example, Teroson) or automotive sealant.
Not always: mirrors for European and American versions differ in shape. For Volkswagen Passat B8, there are separate EU and USA options, and the “for EU” note in the name means the trims are designed for European mirrors.
If there is a turn signal repeater in the mirror housing, you need a trim with a cutout — it does not cover it. For mirrors without a repeater, choose the version without a cutout. The repeater itself is not included in the trim.
Yes, if the set is designed for your model: for example, for Volkswagen Passat B5 1996–2003, the set includes one large and one small trim for the factory mirrors. For some vans (Renault Kangoo, Trafic, Citroen Berlingo), the trims are also sold separately — left or right.
Parts marked “for painting” or “primer” are intended for painting — for example, trims for Range Rover, Land Rover Defender and Discovery Sport, and Lexus LX570 caps in TRD Sport style. Chrome, carbon, and black BMW-style trims have a ready-made finish.

How it works

  1. Fit the trim covers before installation Without removing the protective film, hold each cover up to its mirror: check the contour, the cutouts for the turn signal repeater and camera, and identify the left and right sides. Verify the installation type in the product specifications: “Self-adhesive” or “Glue-on”.
  2. Wash and dry the mirror housing Wash the mirror housing, remove wax, polish, and any old adhesive residue, and let the surface dry completely.
  3. Degrease the surface Wipe the bonding area with a degreaser that is safe for paint and plastic. After that, do not touch the surface with your hands.
  4. Work in dry warmth Apply the covers in a dry place at a positive temperature, not in frost. In cooler conditions, gently warm the double-sided tape on the cover or the mirror housing with a hair dryer.
  5. Attach and press down Remove the protective film gradually, starting from one edge, and press the cover from the center toward the edges around the entire perimeter. For glue-on covers, apply automotive glass adhesive or sealant to the inner side and secure the part with masking tape.
  6. Let the fastening set Do not wash the car or remove the фиксація until the adhesive or tape has set according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Then check the edges and, if necessary, press them down again.
