Stainless steel looks like chrome, won’t rust, and can be polished if it loses its shine. ABS plastic is lighter and less noticeable on a black bumper. Both materials protect the paint from scratches when loading the trunk.
Both manufacturers make guards from stainless steel. Carmos uses Turkish steel and offers the widest range of models. Omsa Line uses Italian stainless steel from a Turkish manufacturer and has more precise fit geometry.
This is a guard with a bent edge that wraps around the outer edge of the bumper and protects it from scratches. A straight guard covers only the upper surface of the bumper.
Most guards are attached with double-sided tape that comes with the guard, so there is no need to drill the bumper. Some models are installed with adhesive sealant or in factory mounting points — this is indicated in the product specifications.
No, the rear bumpers of a sedan, hatchback, and wagon are different. Choose a guard marked for your body type in the name: SD, HB, SW, Avant, or Sedan.
These are the dimensions of the box in which the guard is shipped, not of the item itself. The exact length and width of the guard can be checked with the manager.
How it works
Test-fit the trim Without removing the film from the tape, place the trim against the bumper and check that it sits evenly, and that the bend and cutouts match the shape of the bumper.
Wash and dry the bumper Remove dirt, wax, and polish residue from the upper surface of the bumper and let the surface dry completely.
Degrease the surface Wipe the bonding area with an alcohol-based cleaner or silicone remover — how firmly the tape holds depends on this.
Apply in warm, dry conditions Install in dry warmth. If it’s cold, gently warm the bumper and the tape with a hair dryer.
Stick from the center to the edges Gradually peel off the protective film from the tape, position the trim in the center, and press it firmly from the middle toward the edges, especially the corners and the bend.
Let the tape cure Remove the protective film from the front side of the trim and do not wash the car with high pressure until the tape has fully set.
