Volkswagen Caddy 2004-2010 Leather Gear Shift Boot

Description

Leather gear shift boot for Volkswagen Caddy 2004–2010 (third generation, 2K body) — this is a black shift lever boot made of genuine leather by Digital Designs, part number KOZ038. The kit includes one boot without the frame and knob: it is stretched over the factory frame and installed to replace a worn or torn original factory “dust cover” without any modifications to the console.

What’s included and what you’ll need from your car

• In the box: 1 gear shift lever boot, color black, material — genuine leather.
• Not included: the plastic frame that удерживает the boot in the console, and the knob (shift knob). Both parts remain factory, so the frame must be intact: broken clips will not hold the new boot.
• Installation type: into the factory mounting points — no drilling or gluing anything to the console is required.

Customers call this part differently: “boot on the knob”, “gear boot”, “skirt”, “linkage boot”, “bag on the gearbox”. All of this is the same shift lever boot under the knob, not a cover for the knob itself.

How gear shift boots for Caddy 2004–2010 differ

There are three types of products for this model in the catalog, and the choice depends on what exactly needs to be replaced.

The leather boot is not divided by number of gears: 5- and 6-speed versions are only available in knob-with-boot kits, because the shift pattern on the knob itself differs.

How to replace the gear shift boot on a Caddy yourself

1. Remove the shift knob and carefully unclip the boot frame from the console — the plastic clips break easily, so work without sharp jerks.
2. Detach the old boot from the frame and remember how it is secured.
3. Pull the leather boot onto the frame and secure its lower edge the same way the factory one was held.
4. Put the frame back in place until the clips click, and reinstall the knob.

The fit is tight: according to customer reviews, the boot fits precisely, but stretching it onto the frame takes effort — do it slowly and without jerks so you don’t break the frame clips.

Will it fit Caddy 2010–2015 and what else is available for the interior
