DIY headlight tinting

Tuning the optics of a car is an amateur business. However, if your car already has tuning accessories, then in order to complement the overall picture, it makes sense to do the headlights. Before work

First of all, the car owner is advised to decide what color he wants to tint the headlights. The best option is to match the body color, but black is also used.

For work, you must use a special tint varnish for headlights, which can be sold in car dealerships or other retail outlets. Do not use spray paint.

Process

Step-by-step instructions for toning headlights with your own hands:

• First, you need to remove the headlights from the car. For this, all connectors are disconnected and carefully pulled out.
• After the headlights are dismantled, they must be treated with a glass cleaner or special for automotive optics.
• Then, you need to close those parts of the headlight that are not planned to be tinted.
• After the optics have dried, shake the balloon thoroughly and apply a thin layer of varnish on the glass (while keeping the balloon at a distance of 20-30 cm). This is usually done in one or two layers. Each layer must dry completely before applying a new one.
• The final stage - after the last layer of varnish on the headlight has dried, the headlight is polished. By polishing, you will give the optics a shine and more attractive appearance.

Recommendations: work on tinted headlights should be carried out in warm sunny weather, dust and smudges should also be avoided.
