Reviews Stainless Steel Door Handle Covers For Mercedes Vito W639 2004-2014
Door handle covers for Mercedes Vito W639 2004–2014 are chrome covers made of stainless steel that are attached with double-sided tape on top of the factory exterior door handles. There are four options on the page: a set for 3 or 4 handles from Carmos (Turkish steel) or OmsaLine (Italian stainless steel from a Turkish manufacturer, more precise fit); 3 covers — front doors plus one side sliding door, 4 — front plus two side sliding doors or front, one sliding and rear swing doors. The same set fits Mercedes Viano of the same W639 body.
| Option | Which handles it covers | Manufacturer and material | What’s different |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 pieces, Carmos | two front doors + one side sliding | Carmos, Turkish stainless steel, self-adhesive | the most affordable set for a body with one sliding door |
| 4 pieces, Carmos | front + two side sliding or front + one sliding + rear swing | Carmos, Turkish stainless steel, self-adhesive | the most common choice among Vito W639 buyers |
| 3 pieces, OmsaLine | two front doors + one side sliding | OmsaLine, Italian stainless steel (Turkish manufacturer) | more precise fit geometry, the cover follows the handle shape more tightly |
| 4 pieces, OmsaLine | front + two side sliding or front + one sliding + rear swing | OmsaLine, Italian stainless steel (Turkish manufacturer) | the same as 3 pieces OmsaLine, for a body with four handles |
What the options on the page mean
The product has four options. Each is a combination of two characteristics: how many handles the set covers and who the manufacturer is.
- 3 pieces or 4 pieces — the number of covers, i.e. how many exterior handles will be covered. Two of them always go on the front doors, and the rest depends on the body: Vito W639 was produced with one sliding door or with two — on both sides, and at the rear — with a tailgate or with swing doors. Therefore, a set of 3 covers is the front doors and one side sliding, and a set of 4 is the front and two side sliding or the front, one side and rear swing doors. Count the handles on your car.
- Carmos — Turkish stainless steel. The covers are mounted on self-adhesive tape. This is the most affordable option, and the Carmos set for 4 handles is the most common choice of our Vito buyers.
- OmsaLine — Italian stainless steel from a Turkish manufacturer. A more expensive line with noticeably more precise fit geometry: the cover follows the handle shape more tightly. There are also two sets — for 3 and for 4 handles.
The handle of the lift-up rear tailgate has a different shape than the door ones, so the covers from these sets are not installed on it — there is a separate rear handle cover for it, also from Carmos or OmsaLine. The price, availability, and dispatch time for each option are different — they are visible immediately after selecting an option in the product card.
Handle covers or under-handle covers
This product covers the handle itself. The recess in the door under the handle is a separate item: under-handle covers, often called “soap dishes”, “cups”, or “under-handles”. They protect the paint under the handle from scratches by fingernails and also come for 3 or 4 handles. They are bought separately or together with handle covers.
Which Vito models the covers fit and what to check before ordering
The covers are made for the shape of W639 handles and fit the entire production period 2004–2014. The same set also fits Mercedes Viano — there is a separate page for it: Viano handle covers. They will not fit other Mercedes vans and cars of other brands: even similar handles have a different shape, and the cover will not sit tightly.
- Body. At the generation changeover, in 2014–2015, the model year does not always indicate the body. If you are not sure that you have W639, send the manager a photo of the handle or the VIN.
- Handle condition. The cover is decoration on top of the factory handle: it hides scuffs, but it will not replace a broken or cracked handle, and the handle itself is not included in the set.
- Key lock. Check which handle on your car has the lock cylinder, and compare with the photos of the selected option how the cover accounts for it.
How to stick the handle covers on and how to care for them
No drilling is required: the covers are attached with double-sided tape on top of the factory handles. Before installation, test-fit each cover without removing the film from the tape. The handle is washed, degreased and dried, wax and polish residues are removed — this affects how well the tape will hold. Install in warmth; in cool weather the surface is gently warmed up. Step-by-step instructions are in the installation block on this page.
Stainless steel does not rust and does not require painting, so the covers easily withstand car washes and everyday vehicle use, and the shine that dulls over time can be restored by polishing. If the cover needs to be removed, it is heated and carefully separated; for reinstallation, new double-sided tape will be needed.
What to pair with Vito W639 handle covers
Handle covers are often purchased together with other chrome covers for Vito W639 — for mirrors, sills, grille. If you need to replace only one cover, separately there is a handle cover with holes (1 pc). Everything for the handles of this model is collected in the section Vito W639 handle covers, and for other cars — in the section handle covers.

How it works
- Wash the handles
- Wash the handles and the area around them to remove dirt and wax, then let them dry completely.
- Degrease the surface
- Wipe the handles with a degreaser or alcohol wipe — this affects how firmly the tape will hold.
- Test-fit the trim
- Place the trim against the handle without removing the protective film from the tape, and make sure it fits the shape evenly.
- Apply the trim
- Remove the film, position the trim in place, and press it firmly along the entire perimeter for 30–60 seconds.
- Let the tape set
- Apply in warm conditions (not below +15 °C); in cool weather, gently warm the surface. Do not wash the car for the first 24 hours after installation.
